December Happenings...

Thinking back at this very moment, I really do not recall what I accomplished for the month of December.. Let me think..

I took a long-off from work on the beginning of the month - 04 Dec, to 07 Dec 2010. 4days off from work, and my mind suddenly went blank, and I don't know how to do my work. I was just staying at home, sleeping, and walking around Ipoh. Then I started wondering what happen to our "hero" when he was off for medical leave for 2 months long..

My lady-boss took off from 13 Dec onwards, & only be coming back on 03 Jan 2010 : Does that count as good news? The monkeys are all off from ropes, & free to wander for 3 weeks with minimal supervision.. GOOD HEAVEN!!!

Year end appraisal had taken place, and well I really do not have much to say. I have all I need, & I have nothing to ask from the company - is that good news to the boss, & company or it's a disguise that this person is not ambitious enough.. arghh!!

Well, the good part is lady-boss told me that she had proposed to upgrade me to a higher category - from C2 to C1..

Kononnye can consider promotion cos it's a senior position, but increment wise, have to wait for official letter from HR since we have a new HR Mgr this fiscal year... God Bless Me with the increment amount!!

Drama Addiction : 下一站，幸福

The story is about a cocky student, Ren Guang Xi who has everything and things around him start to change when he met Liang Mu Cheng. Mu Cheng is a sweet girl who has lost both her parents at a very young age, and living with her step mother since her father passed away in a car accident.

Mu Cheng help her step parents selling bento is the college own by Guang Xi's mother, and fate had brought them together, where Guang Xi finally learn to give & love from Mu Cheng. Tragedy strikes when Guang Xi had to undergo a brain surgery, and his mother is forcing Mu Cheng to leave him.

The surgery had cause Guang Xi lost his memory, & both of them finally met each other 6 years after..

ME office : 08 Nov, 2010

Conference call with the ppl in the ME office, during KM's visit.

Encounter of the day : The ladies from the ME office.
What I can gather is I did respond to their request from promptly, and only on certain occasion that it took more time for me to respond...

And what I get back if that we do not respond on time, unlike other plants.. It took us 2 weeks to respond on their quote request, and it's not with a direct answer... whereby we will post more questions and cause them to run around to get the answers. By the time all the answers had been given, the competitors had already quoted, & almost going to delivery the items..

Their comment that our respond is slow, but acc to them - they draw 50% of their goods ex-our plant... What is this s**t? If we are slow, you are still buying from us?
OMG, are we that bad?

I am wondering if all these ppl are telling the truth, and they just picked up random samples.
And the best part is, the ppl who comment is not the one that we received the quote request...

I think I should be more careful dealing with ppl in this exotic office....

Been a while

I's been like more than a month since my last posting.. What happened?

It's got to do with work of course - festive breaks, and mad rush to close for 3rdQ, and welcoming the last Q of the year.. Pretty much tiring..

Going all out to hit the KPIs could be one of the reason, and gosh - I am so stressed out.

Oct 4th was when finally hit 30.. Big step huh?
What had I done, hhmm.... I bought my 30th celebration diamond ring.. which ES have to pay for it ^o^. It because he did not get me any birthday present.. Ask me to pick it myself.. Sigh!

This man, what's more to expect from him.. Giving the excuse that I might not like what he bought, so to save all the trouble, I tell him what I want. Ting!! Mau sepak him into a lombong...

Another contribution to my stress could be the findings on the study trip that my lady boss & my colleague done on the EU plants.. Sigh... What we are doing is very good, and now - we need to measure our efficiency... Fainted.... Everyone got the picture & into it except a lost soul... The famous lost soul.. **fainted**

That's how my Oct goes, and November... Hmm... here we go... Another 7 weeks before we close for the year.. Feel like a donkey with a carrot dangling in front of us.. we had hit 92% of the budget, & another 8% to go for Nov & Dec.. And you can do it!!! Come on Bebe....

Happy Mooncake Festival

We are celebrating mooncake festival today. Nothing special again this year. We are having sitdown dinner @ East Ocean Restaurant this year with 2nd Uncle & Auntie.

We will adjourned to yum-char session with the gang later on at our regular place - Oldtown Kopitian @ Jln Gopeng.

Last year, we did not celebrate this day as the festival fell on 03 Oct, 2009. And we were attending my friend's wedding dinner.

Guess this festival is getting less and less important as we grow. We still work on this day, and we will only be back home slight earlier for sitdown dinner with family. For those who is working away from home, mostly will celebrate this in the earlier weekends.

No lanterns, no mooncakes...

In 2 weeks time, I will be entering to the 30 years old zone.

Suddenly, it seems that there's a lot of puzzle appearing before me. What are these?

1) What had I accomplished in 30 years of my life?

2) If I will to live upto 60 years old, I had gone through half of my life journey, what had I got so far?

3) If I will now need to outline all my plans on my 30's onwards, what I want to do/ achieve?

My mission for the coming 2 weeks will be to list down my 30's to-do list...

what I did on this Raya break?

Hari Raya fall on 10 & 11 Sep this year, with replacement off on 9 Sep 2010. We had a 4 days break in a row.. What had I done?

09 Sep :
- TVB Series Marathon
- Playing with little Ashton
- Hitting the gym, and
- Yum-char at McD with ES, Alex & SW

10 Sep :
- Slaving at the stall
- Watched Resident Evil : Afterlife, my very first Resident Evil movie,but it kidda sux

11 Sep :
- Korean series marathon
- Go to sis' house to play with little Ashlee, she's such a little monster, and she learn real fast these days
- Dinner with AL, Mandy, and Pak Yee and later
- Mamak-ing with ES, SW & Alex

12 Sep :
- Taiwanese series marathon
- Slaving at the stall,
- Dinner at sis' house, and
- Grocery shopping at Tesco with family, sis & Ashlee of course...

That's what I did for the past 4 days, absolutely nothing but eat, sleep & boiling series... Bliss!!
How I wish the break was longer, and I can totally forget about W.O.R.K.

Lately..

Success :
- I joined a gym class, and vowed to exercise min 2x weekly.
- Leave the office before 8pm.

Failure :
- Lack to motivation to work.
- Easily pissed of by some old-pain-in-ass.

It's me

This was taken for quite sometime, when I was a bit "woo-liow" in the office. It's not that I am very free (of course), it was that I am temporary lost of inspiration to work.

The main reason was I wanted to capture the card holder that I purchased Chiangmai on March this year. What else can one see on my table?

A phone holder, coloured stick-on-notes, a big stapler, a UHU gum (curtesy of Ivy before she left the company cos the sole of my shoe had gave way that da), my tupperware, and the "Hapag Lyold" container..

Crossroad

I'd been with this company for the past 6 years plus, and so far my tenure with this company is all well. Join on Jun 2004, confirmed on Sep 2004, and for promoted of Jan 2005. I had been holding this position on the company for the past 5 years plus..

Experience I gain is numerous, and I am very thankful to my superior who had patiently guide me through all these years. Been given opportunities to try new things, with authority and trust.
It seems that my motivation of work fluctuates a lot lately. One moment I was very highly motivated to work, and one moment, one person might had pissed me off and I had lost all my mood to work. Some had changed to some pain-in-you-know-where. Reason stated that she had been in the company so long. It seems that the company does not change - so she decided to change. Well, I did tried to put up with her, but there are times when I am real pissed, I dun give a damn to her.

I admit that this job pays me very well, and I do love doing the job. One that always strikes me - how is the world outside this company? I will be reaching 30 this year, and if I want to experience more, I need to move out to explore more... If I will to stay here far too long, I might think that I am almost "almighty" and I don't know what's happening out there..

Today, I had finally clicked the 1st job submission after 6 years.. I am sure I will be considered for the job, but it will be the pay that I asked for will be the only problem. And the industry that I had applied for, will the one worse struck if there is a recession...

Dun care, submit dulu - worry later.. Who knows they just trash not-so-qualified-but-ask-for-high-pay resume?

Would I considered this week to be a new start?

Well, our brother of the dept will be finally reports to work after a 2 mths break, due to some bone fracture on his leg. He was not working since early May..

I do not know what to expect from his first.. Hopefully his brain still functions...

Mother Hen

This is a private joke that only few of us can understand.. Whenever this lady will to piss me off, I will always picture her as a mother hen, protecting her chicks.

She does not realized it of course, but her actions does obtain the recognition of a mother-hen by some other people who does not know this private joke. Of course, I will keep quiet and seal my mouth from sharing this.

So whenever she pissed me off, and I suddenly smile again, that's when my mind had sway.

My addiction to Twilight

Would you expect an almost 30 year old woman got addicted to teenage novels.
Arghh... The aaddiction was caused by my youngest sister who is in Form 1, who had finished reading all the 4 Twilight saga novels when she was still in Standard 6.

I guess I just fell for the love stories kidda things, and I do admit that I actually like "Robert Pattinson since I seen Harry Potter : Goblet of Fire.

Since I had read all the three books, it does not need a guineus to figure out that I watched all the 3 movies. The latest one was Elicpse...

Hellos and Farewells

Working in my current company, especially in my dept - we see a high turn over of staffs. Talking about front liners, they even said the place/ cubicle is jinxed, bad fung-shui or a bad senior heading the group maybe? Well, I could be the senior they are referring to.. ^o^


I would feel guilty after all, as I know what I done is right.


Requirements all the new candidates have in mind :

- Money must be good (yes, this is everybody's needs - Should be in ok-lah condition)
- 5 days work (Yes, we are)
- No extended working hours (Opps... )
- System orientated, every bits of info should be a few clicks away (another opppsss..)
- No donkey work (Oppss.. CS do operate a donkey farm, doing some donkey work due to uncooperative dept)


I guess our time had ended - whereby when we start work, we will just dive into the water and do whatever our senior says. We do first, only ask later. We would slave ourselves to the max, with the goal that we learn as much as possible... Do I look like Dino's girlfriend or I'll be send to the museum pretty soon.

Am still a firm believer that one must learn how to walk before you can run. I guess it's time to "tune" and readjust based on the current market : Fast come, fast learn & fast jump to another boat with higher pay..

Back to work!

I took a week off from work for my trip to Siem Reap, and I am officially back to work today. Things seems to be light - but of course with a lil' hick-up on the label issue for the one of the LS model for Gxxxxxdt. Well, issue settled, and hopefully no CAPA will be issued & diverted back to CS again.

Without no obvious reason that I feel like checking on on of the items that I had released out last month. Items had been delayed due to some process issue, and was only completed end of last weekend. I happen to find the item had been completed, but using one of the wrong component. Wonder what will happen if I don't feel to be a busybody today? Seems like there is a lucky star either shinning on me, or the production team.. ^o^ sheer dumb luck I guess ...

Things seems to be good on the first day at work, and hopefully it will be smooth sailing (will you believe so?)... Hope the recharged energy will last long enough until our headcount stabilized..

Keep my fingers crossed!!

Recent Trip : Siem Reap

Siem Reap : Cambodia - I only got to know about this place when AL babbling that she wants to go to this place, right after our trip back from Bali on 2008. She wants to see Angkor Wat!! Ok, then I got the picture.. Angkor Wat is located at Siem Reap.

We touched down at Siem Reap International Airport around 8 am of 17 Jul and was greeted by our tour guide, a young Cambodian lady with the name of Chenna. We checked into SiemReapRooms- a small guest house run by a Brit name Phil. The Phil I know from work is a tall, and thin man and this Phil is tall and wide, well I would comment it's a lil bit like Jorn' size.. lol..

First stop - Tonle Sap Lake, known to be the largest fresh water lake in South East Asia. The boat ride from the jetty is slow due to the shallow water. It dry season had just ended, and Jul suppost to be the start of rainy season. Journey to the centre of the lake tooks us about 15 mins. When we reach the centre of the lake, it's amazingly huge. Acc to Chenna, the depth of the centre of the lake is only at 3 metres.

The people/ fisherman who live in the lake is full of hard ship. We say parents put their small kids (less than 5 years old) on the boat, and they peddle following the tourist boats - to sell canned drinks with the price of UDS 1/can. There's even a little girl with a phython on the hands, waiting hopefully for people to come and take pictures with her therefore she can charge for the service - USD 1 maybe?

We saw a lot of mothers having their young kids/ babies on the boat - again selling cheap beers, soft drinks... and maybe some local fruits. These parents keep on having children as they do not have any retirement plan/ fund. Their only hope for their pension funds - their numerous children. But seeing them living their life on the boat, and on the lake - it's almost impossible for them to have a better chance to live a better life. We are very fortunate!!
